At the end of the day, the world is full of people with goals, fears and vulnurabilities - you don't need much more than your bare essentials and prized possessions, you'll be fine :P

As a current Cape Town resident, welcome.
People are stressed by crime, and its real, but so is the sea, the mountain, happy people, and a variety of life and experiences that you won't begin to have explored in just 6 months.

Send me a note if you want specific details. My pics from the last 4 years are all Cape Town, and a very small slice of it indeed!

Just do as much research as you can about the area you are moving to. Especially crimewise. Whereabouts are you moving to?

I'm moving to Cape Town, and the research I've done indicates it's a pretty safe place, most people just recommend not to go out at night, and the obvious don't show off expensive belongings in public and whatnot. But I just was hoping to find someone who could give me some tips on what to do, where to go, what life is like there, etc, other than what I read on websites :)

Aw man, I am in Joburg. My boyfriend is in the Cape though. I know some friendly artists there, try joining the Legionink forums: www.legionink.com/

Or check out their group on Facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/Legion…

Just post on there and I'm sure you'll find some people who will be willing to show you around :)
